SEATING CHARTS // Are they essential?

We often get asked by clients if they need to have a seating chart. The answer is almost always a YES. Here’s Why…

SAVE TIME
You don’t want your guests wasting valuable party time walking up and down table looking for their name. Not to mention their might be similar named guests. You want guests to find their seat as quickly as possible. TIP: Leave the seating chart out to view during cocktail hour.

STOP CONFUSION
Confused guests will have a bad experience. If they don’t see a seating chart they will be unsure of how to find out where they are sitting. Leading to some guests being stressed or anxious.

CRUCIAL FOR CATERING
Since the seating arrangement is a flow on effect to other vendors (especially catering) a seating arrangement will most likely be needed (maybe except for Buffett setting). Since you need to create it anyway, you might as well display it.

“I’ll HAVE AN USHER”
Most times this option (a person telling everyone where they are sitting) is interruptive of guest conversations, can waste time with long lines forming to “find out their seat” and feel frustrating if there’s not enough ushers. The ushers also waste time looking up the list to find guest names.

DESIGN TONE
The seating chart can be a big design feature for the entrance of your reception. Adding style and setting a mood, and ya’ll know how much we love an excuse to create something pretty!
